Fruit Trees for Spring

Spring is the best time to pick out fruit trees. Also this is the time to plant. Most nurseries have what's called bareroot trees. These are dormant trees that have been dug out of the ground and have no soil around the roots. The tree are brought into the nurseries and healed in, put into loose soil. The trees cost less and you get to see what you are buying. So get out there and plant your orchard. Don't forget dig your holes 1 1/2 times as wide and 2 times as deep, and keep the graft turned to the north and above the ground soil level. Doing this, the graft will not sunburn.
